SR-71mach6 SpeedServer™ ion's all-SSD Server

ion's SR-71mach6 SpeedServer™ is an all SSD server optimized to deliver well more than 1 million IOPS performing random reads. The SpeedServer is built on the latest Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors with the fastest memory and server NICs in a compact, cost-effective, and low-power system.

SR-71mach6 SpeedServer(TM)
  • Design your ultimate storage servers based on SSD RAID with our SR-71mach6 Configurator.
  • For a powerful but more affordable 1U all-SSD RAID server, look at the SR-70mach6 SpeedServer.
  • Hard to believe this performance? Please look at some of the bandwidth and IOPS benchmarks.
  • ion SR-71mach6 SpeedServer is based on Intel® Data Center SSDs or Optane 905P SSDs
  • Intel® Flash SSDs are over-provisioned by ion for greater endurance and better random write performance.
  • ion SR-71mach6 SpeedServer is only offered with Intel SSDs which feature an Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER) of 1 sector per 1017 bits read.

"All-Flash Array, or AFA"? Well, not exactly. All SSD, yes, but ion's SR-71mach6 SpeedServer™ can be configured with both Intel® DC Flash SSDs and/or Intel® Optane SSDs based on 3D XPoint technology. More importantly, ion's SR-71mach6 SpeedServer™ is a server. Software like Open-E JovianDSS or Microsoft® Windows® Storage Spaces Direct or VMware® vSAN can present the server as a storage resource, but it can also be a server running the operating system of your choice with no secret sauce. If the requirement is for a server with tiered storage performance, any or all of those technologies can be combined for an optimum mix of performance and capacity. No fabric can deliver latency as low as a direct NVMe connection to your storage. DCIG suggests that "Any organization that has yet to adopt an all-flash storage infrastructure for all active workloads is operating at a competitive disadvantage."

What would an All-SSD server do for the performance of your database? An All-SSD Windows File Server? Or, an All-SSD Open-E JovianDSS storage server?

Sure, you can still deploy servers with spinning rust. But why? Pretend for a moment that the performance of an all-SSD server - very high IOPS, very low latency and amazing bandwidth - is of no value to your organization. What is the value of the higher reliability of SSDs? What tolerance does your organization have for downtime? For slow RAID rebuilds? SR-71mach6 SpeedServer is built entirely with SSD, using RAID, to produce a storage server of very high reliability. SpeedServer? StorageServer? SR-71mach6 is a server, SSD-optimized for the highest performance possible.
